Hi, Phil the Fat Burner here, and in this video I want to share with you how the words you use may be positively or negatively affecting the results you’re getting in the gym. The words we use especially about ourselves, or attitude towards exercise and nutrition are a big factor in the results that you get. For example, if you have a negative view of yourself or negative view about going to the gym or eating healthy food, I think you’re going to find it very difficult to get good results. On the flip side, if you have a positive self-image and you’re positive about coming to the gym and positive about eating healthy, you’re definitely more likely to get better results.

From years of experience, I’ve found the people that have a bad attitude towards coming, towards themselves, the gym, and nutrition really struggle. For example, people who say to themselves, “I’m fat, and I can’t lose weight,” or “I hate going to the gym, I hate exercise,” or “Healthy food is just so boring to eat.” Those people are definitely going to be struggling in the gym for sure and really start getting results.

On the flip side, if someone has more of a positive attitude, and the words they use are, “Yes I can do it and I can lose weight. I’m just going to keep on working hard,” or “Yeah, I really love going to the gym. I love the workouts. I love doing weights,” or, “Yep, I love eating healthy food. It tastes nice. I can try these different recipes.” Those people are definitely going to do better than the people with a negative attitude.

What I want you to do from now on is I want you to check the language that you use. When you find yourself with a negative view towards yourself or the gym or nutrition, I want you to check yourself, and focus on the positive instead. I really want you from now on to concentrate on the language that you use. Instead of, “I can’t do this and I can’t do that,” “I will do this and I will do that.” “I can lose weight, I enjoy coming to the gym, I enjoy eating healthy food.” Do that and you’re more likely to get results. Now at the start, that might be really difficult, if you’re one of those people that constantly have negative talk about themselves. What I want you to do though is just fake it until you make it. The more you use the positive language, you’ll be surprised how it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, okay? Soon you start saying you enjoy healthy food, you enjoy exercise, you have a better positive image about yourself, soon you’ll start to believe it just by the language you use.
