Today I want to talk about what I think is the biggest missing link to people trying to lose weight and that is definitely consistency. When I talk about trying to lose weight, I talk about there’s five keys, and that is weight training, cardio, nutrition, accountability, and support. What I’ve found is that most people that are struggling to see results, they lack consistency in one or more of those five key areas.
For example, someone may be doing lots of weight training but they’re lacking cardio. They don’t do enough cardio to see results, or vice versa. They could be doing a lot of cardio, but they’re not doing enough weight training to see results.
They could be training really hard and doing the right type of training, but they’re not tracking their food, so there’s no consistency, so therefore, they’re going to struggle to see results.
They could lack accountability, so they could be training hard, eating reasonably good, but there’s no accountability such as doing measurements, keeping food and exercise diary, or writing down the weights that they lift.
They could have accountability. They could be eating pretty well, training pretty hard, but they maybe lack support at home, so they could be doing all the right things, but then they come home, the rest of the household is eating poorly, therefore they start to eat poorly as well, so they lack consistency and support.
What you need to do is you need to know those five areas, so that is weight training, cardio, nutrition, accountability, and support, and work out which of those five areas you’re lacking in the most and come up with different strategies on how you could improve that key area to losing weight.
