A Paleo diet is basically a caveman diet where we will only eat foods that were available to cavemen over 2000 years ago, before we started to farm our animals and farm our food.
Now, there’s numerous resources on the internet where you can find exactly what’s not allowed in the diet and what’s not allowed in the diet. All you need to do is type in “Paleo diet” into Google and it will come up with heaps of information. I’ll just give you some rough guidelines today.
On a Paleo diet, you’re not allowed to have any grains. That’s stuff in short such as pasta, rice, cereals. You’re not allowed to have any dairy products and you’re not allowed to have any legumes, which is stuff like beans and lentils.
Your diet is mainly going to consist of lean meats, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and eggs. Honestly there’s a more extensive list on the internet of what you can and what you cannot have.
Now, there’s 3 main reasons why I think the Paleo diet is a really good thing. Number 1, is our body functions better and look better when we eat we eat foods in its most natural state and that’s what the Paleo diet is all about.

Number 2, what I found is people trying to lose weight generally over consume processed carbohydrates and too many starchy carbohydrates such as bread, rice, pasta.
The 3rd reason is, when you’re eating foods in its most natural state, such as lean meats, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, it becomes very difficult to overeat those foods. Without knowing it, you will control portion sizes, which means the you will control calories too which is better for weight loss.
Now, I know for the average person being able to stick to the Paleo diet is almost impossible, so that’s why I like to call this the 80-20 rule. If 80% of the time your diet can consist of mainly lean meats, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and eggs. Then 20% of the time you may include non-Paleo meals, you’re still going to get great results.
