This is an amazing transformation by my client Nicky. Nicky lost 15 kilos in four months. When Nicky first came to me, her diet consisted of lots of processed food and way too many starchy, carbohydrates. Bread, rice, pasta, potatoes. What we did firstly for training was we wanted to implement more weight training, because Nicky had only ever done cardio before, so muscle mass was quite low.
 
We started with heavy weight training, doing power lifting movements, such as squats, bench-press dead-lifts. Followed by high intensity circuit training where we’re also using weights. Then, because Nicky really loved running, on her own she’d do high intensity integral training on the treadmill. That mainly consisted of one minute sprints, one minute jog, for 20 minutes.
 
In the diet, what we did we wanted to replace all the starchy carbohydrates, place them only after workout. Then, when she wasn’t working out, she ate mainly fibrous carbohydrates, such as spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, stuff like that. She tried to eat protein with most meals, so her muscles would recover from the weight training that she was doing with me.
 
Nicky was really dedicated. Therefore, because she was consistent with her diet, she was able to see reasonably good results fairly quickly, and also with the other training on her own, which is really good for fat loss. It’s just a really amazing transformation. She’s able to get a lot stronger. She could hardly do any push-ups before she started, by the time she finished, she was doing push-ups on her toes as well. Transformation I’m really proud of.
